I bought my first pair of brogues in my teens. They were made for men because back then the gals preferred Mary Janes. I wore them (black, plain, too wide for my feet) with a pair of white scrunched down knees socks I nicked from my dad, a drop-waisted floral dress made by my mum, and the same bowler hat I wore to the theatre. The parents didn’t understand, but the look made sense to me.
Skipping forward, today I’m a-donning this beautiful pair from Russell & Bromley. A friend and Instagram follower screamed ‘pimp’. I think they’re natty. Period.

What do you think of my knitted tie? I made it myself.
