december, instagrammed #instagram #december #2012

To be honest, at the start of the December, I didn’t think I’d have a whole lot to post for my monthly instagram update. Full of painkillers, hospital memories of a woman wailing through three consecutive nights that I was killing her, and a leg in a cast until mid-January, I was feeling very sorry for myself indeed. I wish now that I hadn’t been so self indulgent.

My friends came over en masse to make me lunch, wash my hair, bring me magazines and regale me with stories of the outside world. I ran out of vases for all the flowers – and a very special mate sent me the personalised soup can pictured above.

I even managed a couple of trips (with lots of help from my tribe). First to France very early on. I can’t remember much of that weekend other than that I failed to guess I was Yoda in celebrity heads and burst into floods of tears. I blame Tramadol and sleep deprivation (a blubberer, I am not). I expect to be teased for life.

We also trained it down to Cornwall for New Year’s Eve, where I did my best to join in the Wassailing (Google it) and baked up a storm. I’m back in London now and looking forward to the year ahead. Especially next Monday. Off comes the cast (and with it the whinging will stop. Promise).

Other than that, I used the time to make grand plans and set achievable goals for 2013, which I’ll share on a separate post. For now, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s helped me out these past few weeks and to wish you all a very happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2013.
