The other evening I casually mentioned to the MrMr that things didn’t feel very Christmassy this year. He disagreed – but then again, he’d been to Fortnum’s and other places in the outside world full of merriment, cheer and twinkling lights.
I think my bah-humbug-ness is because my world has shrunk to 70sqm. It also doesn’t help that our halls is bough free and our well-travelled Christmas tree is still in its box under a mountain far too titanic for me to shift given the broken ankle and all. The kitchen hasn’t been a-cooking and gifts haven’t arrived (though apparently DHL is on its way with the loot). I haven’t even had a mug of vin chaud…
Anyway, today is a new day and I’m on a mission to make the best of things, starting here and now. Yesterday I changed the background to lots of vintage Chrissie cards and made it snow, but that wasn’t enough. The below? Now that’s more like it…

But wait, there’s more. Seasonal cooking kicks into high gear today. I’ve actually had requests for my Christmas cake and lebkuchen. Flattery will get your fed. Fact.
