Learning how to SCUBA dive in Papua New Guinea – that’s what this Oliver Jeffers painting (entitled Fathom Painting No.1) reminds me of. Bobbing atop the ocean, excited and a little apprehensive about what lies beneath. Until, of course, you pull your mask over your eyes, pop your regulator in your mouth, deflate you BCG and take the plunge into a whole new world.
Fellow divers, you know what I mean, right?
