It’s a door-to-door trip to France this weekend. Just a pop over the channel to spend some time with friends, celebrating an early Christmas before the antipodean diaspora disappears Down Under, eating lots of seafood, watching them drink champers while I’m on the fizzy water (my balance sucks at the best of times and can’t help but think that alcohol + prescription painkillers + crutches + a 17th century staircase would result in the other leg snapping in two). At least I’ll get a chance to pull out my killer Franglais.
