I’m not normally taken with inspirational quotes. Do you remember those framed pictures that came out about a zillion years ago? There’d be waves crashing around a lighthouse with the word HOPE printed across the top in a striking, yet wistful serif font, and bile in my throat, rising in tandem with my blood pressure and cynicism.
I’m still not partial to the aforementioned, but I have recently found a few quotes and ideas that have resonated. I’d even go so far as to say that one or two have left an indelible mark. I don’t think I’ve become a softy, just a little more perceptive to existential reminders. Perhaps it’s an age thing?
It’s funny. I feel a little vulnerable about this post, but my desire to share is outweighing my qualms. My friend Nadia’s always saying ‘I’m not here for a haircut.’ I guess this is what I’m getting at too.
* I’ve just read this back and am in desperate need to levitate all this navel gazing, so I’ve added some quirks and other bits too. Here’s the whole kaboodle kit.
