For the most part, I do my best to eschew celebrities on the blog. There’s enough blah-blah-blah out there without me adding to the mix here. I do, however, have my icons. People who transcend fame and have a particular meaning to me. Just like the scent of a frangipani can transplant me back to my life in Singapore or Papua New Guinea or Cameroon, these people conjure memories of things past. I like to call it nostalgia personified. Forgive the indulgence.

I realise this is quite an eclectic mix – and there are still lots of people missing – but that’s the nature of Pinterest. I pin who I’m come across. I don’t go searching. In other words, it’s a work in progress.
There are more of my iconic finds here.
