ren skincare: the skin i live in

This video has raised a few eyebrows. Is it a cheap ’sex sells’ trick? Or has Ren, the revered yet understated skincare brand, put on a brave glowy-skinned face and stepped into the light?

I have to admit, watching this film with a gaggle of other journalists and bloggers at the launch yesterday, was slightly uncomfortable. The consensus, however, was overwhelmingly positive. And now that I’ve watched it again in the privacy of my own home and thoughts, I can’t find fault with it.

Ren, which means ‘clean’ in Swedish, has given us a realistic interpretation of young love and sex (especially when compared with all the plastic and pumped- up pornography available at the click of a mouse). Positive, tactile images of intimacy and the gentle power of touch can only be a good thing in my book.

And no, I’m not just saying this because I’m a fully-fledged Ren addict - I’m pretty sure I’d like the film regardless. What do you think? I’d love to know.

PS. Yes, Clever Clogs, the headline is a reference to my other favourite film this week… Hola, Pedro.
