I’ve always want to wear prescription glasses. My sister needed them from a young age, but unfortunately I was cursed with 20-20 vision. Back when I was in High School, I even bought a pair of silver wire-rimmed, clear-lensed specs from Sportsgirl.
I thought I looked like Yoko Ono, only cooler. Naturally, I got rumbled (one of the popular girls saw me at the checkout and made sure everyone knew – during maths class the next day – that my new eyewear was nothing more than an affectation).
At the Kirk Originals party last week, I wasn’t one of the cool kids either. Just happy to be invited, I skirted around the edge of the party. And, not knowing anyone, felt liberated enough to take 40 or so pics of myself in the most delish glasses ever (have I ever mentioned how much I love my iPhone?).
I must’ve looked a sight. Lonely? Maybe. Vain? Probably. Silly? Definitely. Tant pis. I’m in love with the blue sparkles. The new collection of neon lovelies is also amazing. I feel a little wrinkly for a complete fluoro outfit now, but I could definitely go for a pair in glow-in-the-dark pink as an accent – if I needed them, that is. For now, I’ll have to stick to the uber-fab sunnies. Oh well.
