Dear Kate, the email started, can you help us? It was a missive from Children in Need asking if I’d write about Pudsey (the bandaged bear) and his enviable new makeover. Lots of designers – including some of my faves – have given the wee icon a facelift with some dramatic results.
Fashion + kiddlywink charity? It’s a post-worthy no-brainer. So this afternoon, following a very enjoyable lunch with a fab new designer, I stepped into Liberty, made my way up to the second floor, and found the high-end sleuth (that’s the collective noun for bears, don’t you know) of Pudseies (hmmm… not sure how to make Pudsey a plural).
They’re all fab – and so obviously a product of the designer who created them. I can’t actually decide which is my favourite, but I better make up my mind lickety-split – this evening, I’m leaning towards the Liberty, Katie Hillier or the Jonathan Saunders, though my mind will probably change by daybreak (Know thyself, yadda yadda).
These special Pudsies are going to be auctioned off over the coming weeks. To find out how you can get your hands on one, put your trusty cursor here and execute an old clickeroo. Simples. (Wait, no, that’s another stuffed animal, right?)
The Pudsey collection is on display in Liberty until 17th November.

I like the J Saunders and P Grant ones. Wow the topshop one… it’s really over the top! Great stuff though
Yeah, some of them are OTT, but it’s for a great cause. Jonathan Saunders’ bear is still my fave. x
I love the Henry Holland punky pudsey, but they are all amzing. WOW such cool bears for such a good cause
Yeah, Henry’s is ace. Thanks for stopping by.
