jessie sara english, i am not a celebrity, kate mcauley, photography

I met Jessie Sara English last year in New York. It was fleeting. I was at a bar with my friend Nadia Ackerman and had been introduced to a myriad of Aussie expats – singers, songwriters, stylists and photographers. We hooked up on Facebook a short time later and I’ve been following her work ever since.

And yesterday she popped up in London with a small exhibition at Tapped & Packed – a cafe cum gallery in Soho. Entitled Devil in the Details, Jessie’s work is full of frayed edges, splattered paint, and ethereal – sometimes uncomfortable – imagery. If you’re in the area, it’s well worth a visit – particularly if you’re after a fantastic cup of coffee too.
