potholes, pansies and pomp

pothole gardener, royal garden, i am not a celebrity, kate mcauley

Yesterday the planets must’ve been aligned because I got to cross several things off my wish list at once, including meeting up with my friend Steve, interviewing the legendary Pothole Gardener (who also happens to be Steve), and shooting some original video footage for i am not a celebrity.

For his latest guerrilla garden, Steve’s brilliant idea was to pay homage to the upcoming Royal nuptials (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em, right?). So, he came down to visit me in SW1, which also happens to be the Queen’s postcode. After a long search, which saw us walking hither and tither through the innards of Pimlico, we finally found a suitable location and got to work. Want to see what happened? Then watch the video…

[Note to readers: I apologise for not looking my best make-up-ed and hair brushed self. I’m blaming the seven hours I spent on my feet on Sunday supporting whatshisname in the London Marathon…Getting up on Monday was hard yakka.]

Oh, and here are some more photos too. Gratefully, I’m behind the lens this time.

Click here to visit The Pothole Gardener website. Steve is also the creative genius behind Weather to Wear – that brilliant new website I contribute to.

Thanks Steve for visiting me in SW1, making the Royal pothole garden, filming the whole shebang and editing it into this small masterpiece. You’re a star. All other photos were taken by me.
