today, it’s a song and nothing more

For you, there’ll be no more crying,
For you, the sun will be shining,
And I feel that when I’m with you,
It’s alright, I know it’s right

To you, I’ll give the world
To you, I’ll never be cold
Cause I feel that when I’m with you,
It’s alright, I know it’s right.

And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before.

And I wish you all the love in the world,
But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before, like never before.

Lyrics and vocals, Christine McVie. First released on Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumours.

Thanks for all your comments. This was a little tribute to someone close I lost recently. It’s nice to know it touches other people too. x

Oh, Kate.. the song is playing while I’m writing this, tears streaming down my face. Fleetwood Mac was a theme song during kind of my first true love, but somehow, I didn’t know this song.

Sometimes, a beautiful song is enough. Sending you.. well, you know. x
